Balco Maritime – Balcony systems for cruise ships and the shipping industry
Balco Maritime offers a range of solutions for the use of our products within the maritime sector. Our portfolio includes complete balcony units, balustrades, handrails, floors, divider walls and doors, all designed to meet the specific requirements of cruise ships and maritime environments.
We offer complete, end-to-end solutions—from design and production to installation—supporting both new build and dry-dock projects.
Lightweight, custom maritime balconies
Balco’s Maritime segment is focused on providing custom made balcony solutions that can withstand the harsh environment of a modern cruise ship in global operation.
We strive to make products that are light weight, require a minimum of maintenance and that are highly durable.
A flexible partner in operations
Apart from balconies, Balco can also provide a variety of other products and services. We have delivered and installed drainage systems, glass works, prefabricated steel assemblies and more. We are always up for a new challenge.
Complete balcony units
Whenever the circumstances allow, we make balconies complete with balustrade and floor connected as a unit. This allows us to reduce the installation times, which in turn leaves more time for other installations in the area.
Suppliers
We only select suppliers that are at the highest level of their respective fields. This guarantees that we can provide the best service for our clients.
Balustrades, handrails and floors
Balustrades
We maximize the glass for an unobstructed view while other components are hidden as much as possible. We have solutions for installing our balustrades on existing decks or as part of a complete balcony unit with aluminium floor. The glass can be tinted or even screenprinted in patterns or to create a frosted effect. Curved glass, special geometry or segmented balustrades can be used to follow curvatures of the ship’s deck.
Handrails
Our light weight aluminium handrail receives a special finish that gives it the look of a traditional wooden handrail, but without the maintenance or environmental impact. A variety of different designs are available to give designers more freedom of choice.
Floors
Our floors are made of aluminium profiles and can be coated with standard deck covering compounds.
Wall and ceiling systems
Through our partners, Balco can provide and install wall and ceiling systems for cabins or winter gardens. These are proven systems with the correct fire ratings and all the necessary certificates.
Divider walls
Using high-strength honeycomb panels, our divider walls can be built both strong and light. A part of each wall is normally made openable with a key, to allow maintenance and cleaning operations to proceed without entry through the cabins.
